Avril Lavigne est née le 27 septembre 1984 à Napanee, dans l’Ontario.
Cette franco-canadienne commencera à chanter très jeune.
A 14 ans, elle s’inscrit à un radio crochet et gagne le premier prix.
A 16 ans, la jeune fille est repérée par un producteur et arrive à New York. On lui propose de signer un contrat mais on refuse qu’elle s’implique dans les textes de ses chansons.
Elle refuse et part pour Los Angeles ou sa carrière commencera.
Elle rencontre le producteur Cliff Magness qui accepte de la prendre sous son aile.
C’est un succès. Son album Let’s go sort en octobre 2002 et s’est vendu à plus de 12 millions d’exemplaires.
